Hello everyone,
At the last Friday Night race meeting on May 18, there was a series of incidents which led to the early closure of the event. The Committee has been approached by a few people who were at the meeting to share their version of events which led to the early closure. The Committee has responded to most of the people who have supplied information, but not all.
The Commiittee is taking very seroiusly the behaviour which was displayed on that night.
The Committee will be convening a meeting on Tuesday June 5th, 2007 at the Brendale Race Control commencing at 6.00pm.
I am strongly advising those who were in any way partly, or wholly involved to make themselves available to attend this meeting to explain their actions. Also any witnessess to these actions are also requested to attend.
If you choose not to speak up you are in effect supporting this type of behaviour. The only way the Committee will get to know what actually transpired is for those who were present , to come forward and speak up.
The Committee requires a written version of your account of events to be emailed to me at rsearles@bigpond.net.au no later than 5.00pm Monday June 4, 2007.
I have had people wishing to verbalise the information to me, but this is too open to interpretation therfore only written submissions will be heard. I thank those that have already come forward but it will be necessary to have you attend in case we require anyone to clarify any points someone may contest.
To some this may seem overkill, but certain serious allegations have been made and the Committee will be treating them in the same manner. If people are found to have made false statements to the Committee this will incur a penalty which may affect that person's future membership of the QRCCRA.
The Committee will not be entering into any further discussion or comment regarding this matter on this or any other forum. All correspondence or questions should be directed to the email shown above.
The Comittee is not prepared to allow the actions of a few, to tarnish the reputation of the entire club.
The Committee looks forward to your attendance and input to help resolve this issue and allow us to get back to what this club is designed for - providing an atmosphere for everyone to come and enjoy their hobby.
Racing for Friday June 1, 2007 will continue as normal.
Until this situation has been resolved everyone is welcome at the event, but please ensure there is no further trouble.
